West Ham Pals 13/Essex Memorial Move: SITREP
apologies for poor formatting, I wrote it on a sticky note ;)

+ + + +

Speaking of poor pitch performance...
Speaking of Ground Safety and Stewarding...
Speaking of tear-ups otside the ground and
negative news coverage ...
Speaking about the way our supporters are treated ....
Speaking (as Cass did today on FaceAche) about the 'lower league level' of Corporate Entertainment
for the fella who shelled out over a grand so that his two kids could be pitch-side on match-day ...

Let me tell you about the move of the West Ham Pals memorial from the old Boleyn to the new 'Londoner'....

Since long beffore July of this year I made contact with WHU to begin the discussions regarding the move. I offered them something more 'substantive' than the original Boleyn plaque: I suggested naming every single 'original' volunteer to the West Ham Battalion, an original 'Muster Roll' which was something I hadn't researched and compiled back in 2009 at the original unveiling by Sir Trev. I also suggested that the new memorial, including these names, could feature the new club crest so as to fulfill their marketing/branding requirements etc.

"Fine", they said, "that sounds great, just send us the new wording you want on the memorial."
That was in back July. I send it ti them and fuck off to the Caribbean for July/August after chatting with
the British Army for members of a certain Company with a certain Regiment to attend the re-dedication.

I Get back to UK beginning of Augst, yet no email reply/confirmation from WHU. I re-send the email with the
memorial wording and wait for a reply. I cc it to a chap I know at WHU who was working as my contacts 2ic.
Still no reply other than an auto response telling me 2ic has left WHU.

I re-send the mesage for the third time to my direct contact, by now it is September....
I have the British Army standing by, waiting on my GO Command but they can't hang
around forever and have deployment imminent...

I finally get a reply from my contact, end of September. (If you want to see it this way, she is the 'Line Manager'
for the Memorial move.) "Oh," she tells me, "I'm leaving WHU as of this week and am currently
looking for who to hand this over to....."

Memorial SITREP: In just the same way as many other aspects of the move from the Boleyn to the 'London',
small yet critical details have been daydreamingly overlooked or willfully ignored.

This is why there is no memorial in place, nor any update as to when there will be.
I'm not even sure WHU know where the 'old' memorial actually is right now...

My contact always reminded me of Siobhan Sharpe, without the 'ideas'....
So it is no surprise it has come to this point of having no memorial at all.

This year I doubt there will even be any commemorations or Remembrance,
because WHU will only remember the significance at around Novermber 10th...

I know that the top WHU media lad must read here as he is a proper Hammer.
All I can say to you, 'P', is that can you please fix-up quickfastnotslow....

Not a shock, unfortunately.

The reason nothing gets done about this is that it doesn't fit into Brady's agenda to turn us into Arsenal-lite.

I'll give you a SITREP
Brady is a cunt who needs stringing.

Mike, surely not Double-R Karren?! "Means What She Says and Says What She Means" ..."Or, Not - When It's Better To Be Obscure..." - THAT Karren Brady?!

It was she who was smug enough to chat about the Memorial on the Apprentice back in 2010/11-ish and yet has had no hand to play since that self-promoting mention, has added no input, nor shown any interest.

THAT Karren Brady... The Memorial only ever happened because of the support of the Icelandics....

What's the betting that this can be traced straight back to Brady & her Branding Bunch. Got her fingerprints all over it.
